Why this matters

The worst time to list everything you own
is the week after you lost it.

After the January 2025 Los Angeles wildfires, California's Department of Insurance officially acknowledged what survivors were reporting: reconstructing a home inventory from memory is a "monumental task" — thousands of families had to itemize everything they owned while living in hotels. Insurers pay for what you can document. Everything you can't name and support gets negotiated down, delayed, or denied.

How it works

Four steps to claim-ready

1

1. Snap room by room

Camera stays open — photo, name, next. Traffic-light badges show which items are claim-ready at a glance.

2

2. Add proof to the expensive stuff

Scan the barcode for the serial, attach the receipt, set the warranty — the card turns green when an adjuster would be satisfied.

3

3. Watch readiness grow

The gauge shows how claim-ready your whole home is and points at exactly what to fix, room by room.

4

4. Export the report

One tap → insurance-ready PDF with photos, serials, receipts and your policy details. Save it anywhere.

📷

Snap room by room

Open a room, photograph everything in it. Ten items in two minutes — serials scanned from barcodes, receipts pulled from your camera roll.

📄

Five PDFs, one tap each

Full insurance report; a compact edition that fits any email; a police list with serials but no values; a receipts-and-appraisals bundle for adjuster requests; a photo sheet proving condition. Each cover states exactly who it's for.

🚦

Readiness score

A live gauge shows how claim-ready your home is and points at exactly what to fix: missing photos, prices, or proof for expensive items.

Home care reminders

HVAC filters, smoke detectors, gutters — seasonal presets with notifications, plus warranty expiry alerts for your gear.

🔒

Private by design

No accounts. No cloud. Face ID lock. Your data lives on your phone and in backups only you control.

💾

A backup you can open anywhere

One archive — database, photos AND a plain spreadsheet of your inventory — to iCloud Drive, Files or Google Drive. Unzip it on any computer and your list is right there, app or no app. Restore on any iPhone.

Local-first

No accounts. No cloud. Ever.

Home inventory apps keep dying and taking people's data with them — or quietly moving to $50/month subscriptions. ItemVault is built the opposite way: everything stays on your device, backups are files you hold, and the price is one-time. The app can't lose your data, because it never has it.

What it is

A personal property inventory that pays for itself

ItemVault is a home inventory app for iPhone: a photo-first belongings list built for insurance claims, moving, and peace of mind. Document every room, attach receipts and serial numbers, track warranties — then export a personal property inventory PDF your insurance adjuster can work with, or a CSV spreadsheet for your records.

  • Nothing leaves your phone. No server, no account, no analytics — your records live on-device and export to your own iCloud Drive or Files.
  • Yours, even if we disappear. Cloud tools get shut down and take your data with them. A local-first app can't be switched off from a server — your records stay files you control.
  • Paid once. One-time purchase. No subscription, no upsell, updates included.

FAQ

Questions

Why do I need a home inventory?

After a fire, flood or break-in, insurers pay only for what you can document. People without a personal property inventory routinely recover a fraction of their coverage simply because they can't remember and prove what they owned.

What happens when I get a new iPhone?

Everything moves with you. Your data rides along in your iPhone's own iCloud backup, and your purchase is tied to your Apple ID — restore the new phone, tap Restore Purchases, done. You never pay twice. The exportable backup file in iCloud Drive is your extra safety net.

Is it really a one-time purchase?

Yes. $19.99 once, yours forever, shared with your family via Family Sharing. No subscription — your belongings list shouldn't have a landlord. All future updates are included — you always run the latest version at no extra cost.

Where is my data stored?

Only on your device. There are no accounts and no servers. You can export a full backup archive or an insurance PDF whenever you choose — that's the only way data ever leaves your phone.

What happened to Encircle?

Encircle discontinued its free consumer app in December 2025; users who missed the deadline lost their data. ItemVault is local-first specifically so that can never happen to you.

An hour today. A full payout someday.
